Brian Buchanan has a solid background with diverse experiences that allow him to understand and appreciate competing sides of an issue. Senator Buchanan has served in the Indiana State Senate since February 2018. His goal is to make good common sense decisions that have a positive impact on Indiana an it’s future. His decisions are based on conservative principles that protect individual freedom and ensure limited government.

In addition to his work in the Indiana Senate, Buchanan works with the family transportation and logistics business, Buchanan Hauling and Rigging, Inc. The business operates over 300 tractor / trailers and a logistics management division. His primary responsibilities include sales management and customer development. Prior to joining the family business, Buchanan worked for 8 years with the Indiana FFA Foundation where, for 6 years, he served as its Executive Director. While with FFA, his primary duties were to raise funds, develop partnerships, and secure resources for FFA programs. Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from Purdue University, and is a graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum, a statewide leadership development program.

In addition to his professional career, Buchanan is active in a number of civic and volunteer activities. He formerly served on the AgrIInstitute Board of Directors (Chairman 2011-2013) and the Indiana FFA Leadership Center Committee (Chairman 2011-2019). The Buchanan family is also active with Lebanon Christian Church, Indiana Farm Bureau, and Purdue University.

Brian Buchanan lives in northern Boone County with his wife, Elisha and their children, Chase (7) and Alessandra (5).
